My first choice would probably surprise a lot of people, but Leith has undergone one of the most impressive transformations the city has ever seen, with the average house price percentage increase over the past five years rivalling that of the New Town. The huge renovation works on Leith walk have breathed a new life into the area and long gone are the sawdust pubs and derelict buildings, replaced by quirky cafes, hipster bars and boutique delicatessens. The close proximity to the city centre and high number of greenspaces not only make this a good potential investment, but a genuinely nice place to call home.

Stockbridge
